Partnering for Impact
A community working together to build a better future for our students
Peirce School and Friends of Peirce share a mission: ensuring every student has access to a high-quality, inclusive education that prepares them to be globally-minded citizens. Together, we're addressing funding gaps and creating opportunities that help all students thrive.
Our Shared Commitment
At Peirce School, students are nurtured through a balanced curriculum that meets their academic, cultural, and social-emotional needs. Every student is valued, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.
Friends of Peirce (FoP), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, brings this vision to life by raising funds for programs that enrich the student experience—from after school enrichment activities to arts and special education programs. When you support FoP, you fill critical resource gaps and ensure all students have access to a well-rounded education.
This year's Move-A-Thon raised over $60,000—83% of our goal to fully fund arts partnerships for the 2024-2025 school year. This marks our second-highest Move-A-Thon total ever and shows what we can accomplish together.
Where Your Support Goes
In support of Peirce's vision for an outstanding educational experience, FoP is prioritizing needs outlined by the school administration and leadership:
School Staffing
Reducing the student-to-staff ratio in Kindergarten to provide more individualized support
Arts Partnerships
Continuing arts collaborations across all grade levels, aligned with our IB curriculum, and supporting extracurricular arts programs
Field Trip Subsidies
Giving the chance for more students by helping reduce financial barriers to participation
Library Grants
Keeping our library stocked with culturally relevant books that resonate with our students' diverse interests
Teacher Stipends
Giving teachers flexibility to acquire materials that enhance student learning
Sports Programs
Supporting the sports banquet and funding team uniforms and program needs
School Beautification
Enhancing our physical space with projects like refinishing the gym floor and installing a student-created mural
Classroom Furniture
Updating furniture to foster more dynamic and flexible learning environments
Why FoP Matters
Chicago Public Schools allocates funds to Peirce based on enrollment and district-wide priorities. However, 97-99% of our budget goes to staffing, leaving limited resources for the enrichment activities that make Peirce special.
FoP bridges this gap by fundraising and rallying community support to provide the tools, opportunities, and experiences that foster students' academic, social, and emotional development.
